Verizon 3G APN Settings: GUIDE to Input APN Settings in 2022
Verizon is a great choice for mobile service because of its massive network coverage.
Verizon customers can always rely on getting a great signal no matter where they are.
Verizon also offers some great packages that include minutes, text, and data.
Because of Verizon’s high-quality network, its internet and data speeds are top-notch as well.
But before you can use the data on your phone, you will need to configure Verizon’s APN settings. We’ll tell you how.
Why Do I Need to Configure APN Settings?
If you have a new line connection with Verizon, you will have to configure your APN settings so you can connect to the internet on your device.
Usually, this is done for you automatically when you insert the new SIM card and start your phone.
If you have to reset them for some reason, you’ll need to enter the settings manually.
How to Configure APN Settings for Android
- Open Settings > More > Mobile Networks
- Select ‘Access Point Names’

- Tap on the ‘+’ sign on the top of the screen to begin adding a new APN.
- A list of empty text boxes will be displayed where you will have to input settings for Verizon’s APN.
Here’s the text to be filled in full:

- APN: vzwinternet
- Proxy: Undefined or empty
- Port: Undefined or empty

- MMS Port: Undefined or empty
- Authentication type: PAP
- APN Type: default
- Protocol APN : IPv4/IPv6

Next, press the ‘three dots’ (…) at the top of the screen, and select ‘save’.
Your Verizon APN settings have been configured, so turn on the data on your phone to access the internet.
You may need to restart your phone to reconnect to the network and begin using data.

- Your mobile device is not supported by Verizon.
If you’re sure the SIM is fine and your phone is compatible with the Verizon network, contact Verizon customer support to get connected.
You can always take your phone into a Verizon store to have a tech look at it in person.
If you need a new SIM they can insert it for you and get your phone set up.
Can I Connect to the Internet by Resetting My Default Settings?
No, you will have to dial in the settings manually since a reset will just remove existing configurations.
Many times the Verizon settings are removed because the phone has been reset for some reason. The phone will not automatically restore APN settings.
However, a Verizon tech can reset them for you, or you can follow our directions to do it yourself.
